Márcia de Oliveira Teixeira

Bachelor’s in Social Sciences, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1989), MA, Science and Technology Policy, Alberto Luiz Coimbra Institute of Graduate Studies and Research in Engineering (COPPE)/Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1994); PhD, Technological Innovation and Industrial Organization with emphasis on Research & Development (R&D) policies in public health, COPPE/Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2001). She is currently an adjunct researcher at the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz); a permanent professor in the Graduate Program in Health Information, Communication, and Innovation - PPGICS (ICICT/Fiocruz); and a collaborator in the Graduate Program in Health Professional Education (Joaquim Venâncio Health Polytechnic School - EPSJV/Fiocruz). In addition, she is a consultant for Brazilian journals indexed in databases for health education, undergraduate scientific research, and science and technology policy and sociology. Her field of interest is Social Studies of Science and Technology, with emphasis on the following subjects: health scientific practices, the organization of work in health R&D laboratories, the health work process, health innovation management, health R&D public policies, and mechanisms for coordinating the production of health technical-scientific knowledge. She contributes to the PPGICS research line 1 “Production, organization, and use of health Information”, with emphasis on sublines 1.1 “Regimens of production, regulation and new dynamics of health scientific research” and 1.4 “Cultural practices, techniques and technologies”.
