Library Science and Documentation from the Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro; an MA in Information Science from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro/Brazilian Institute of Scientific and Technological Information; and a PhD in Information and Communication Sciences from Aix-Marseille III University. She worked as technologist at the Division of Information and Technological Prospection, National Institute of Technology (INT), mainly focusing on technological information, competitive intelligence, and technological prospection. She was a professor in the Specialization in Competitive Intelligence Program, an INT/IBICT/UFRJ collaboration, and consultant for various governmental agencies. She is currently a collaborative researcher at the Institute of Scientific and Technological Communication and Information in Health (ICICT), where she was chair of the Laboratory of Scientific and Technological Health Information, 2009-2013; chair of Oswaldo Cruz Foundation Institutional Repository (Arca) until January 2014; and scientific editor of Revista Eletrônica de Comunicação, Informação e Inovação em Saúde - RECIIS. Since 2005, she has been a professor and adjunct-chair in the lato sensu Specialization in Scientific and Technological Health Information, ICICT. She is a member of the Studies on Information and Assessment in Science, Technology, and Health and Lab4U research groups. Since 2009, she has been a permanent professor in the Graduate Program in Health Information and Communication (PPGICS).
