The Institute of Scientific and Technological Communication and Information in Health (Icict) is one of the technical-scientific units of the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz). Icict develops teaching, research and services activities in order to generate knowledge, products and innovations with a view to strengthening the Unified Health System (SUS).
The Stricto Sensu Graduate Program in Information and Communication in Health (PPGICS), registered in the interdisciplinary area, is offered by the Icict, and was approved and recommended by Capes, in 2008, with a score of 4* (Good). In the 2010-2012 triennial evaluation, its score was raised to 5* (Very Good).
Two regular, continuous, and tuition-free courses are offered: the Academic Master's Degree and the Doctor’s Degree in Information and Communication in Health. Both courses aim to train qualified personnel for the development of research and teaching activities related to information and communication in the field of public health.
