The Academic Doctorate aims to provide broad and in-depth scientific and cultural training, enabling the development of original and relevant research to deepen or expand knowledge on processes, practices, products, and technologies in the fields of information and communication in health. It also aims to prepare students for teaching in higher education and graduate programs.
The Doctorate program has a minimum duration of 24 months and a maximum of 48 months. The minimum course load for the Doctorate consists of:
I. 420 hours of mandatory courses.
II. 180 hours of elective courses.
III. 2,280 hours for the preparation and defense of the thesis
The course content may be offered in the form of classes, seminars, group discussion, practical work, research, or other didactic procedures appropriate to each line of research and respective disciplines.
The PPGICS courses are offered in an in-person format, with a limited number of activities that may use non-presential methods, in accordance with current legislation.
