Bachelor’s in Sociology, Andrés Bello Catholic University, Venezuela (1984); MA, Demography, Mexico College (1989); PhD, Public Health, Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (1999). She is currently employed by the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation, where she works as researcher, professor, and vice-chair of the stricto sensu Graduate Program in Health Information and Communication (PPGICS). She is a professor in the Graduate Course in Geriatrics and Gerontology, UnATI/UERJ. She has experience in Demography and Public Health, with emphasis on the following subjects: information quality assessment, aging and the health of senior citizens, the monitoring of health indicators, and demographic dynamics components. She was a member of the Consultant Council and chair of the Health Working Group, Brazilian Association of Population-Based Studies (Associação Brasileira de Estudos Populacionais - ABEP), from 2012 to 2014. She is a member of the Interagency Network of Health Information (RIPSA).
