The Institute of Communication and Scientific and Technological Information in Health (Icict) is one of the technical-scientific units of the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz). Icict engages in teaching, research, and service activities to generate knowledge, products, and innovations with the goal of strengthening the Unified Health System (SUS).
The Stricto Sensu Graduate Program in Information and Communication in Health (PPGICS), registered in the interdisciplinary area, is offered by Icict and was approved and recommended by Capes in 2008, with a rating of 4* (Good). In the 2010-2012 triennial evaluation, its rating was raised to 5 (Very Good).
In the 2017-2020 quadrennium, the program received a rating of 6*. With this new rating, PPGICS became part of the Federal Government's Academic Excellence Program (Proex).
Two courses are offered, which are regularly provided, continuous, and free of charge: the Master's and Doctorate in Information and Communication in Health. The courses aim to train qualified personnel for research and teaching activities related to information and communication in the field of public health.
